The Arkansas Purple Star School Award for military-friendly schools recognizes schools that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. Purple Star awardees receive a special Purple Star recognition to display in their building and are recognized on the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education website.
William Jefferson Clinton Elementary is working toward becoming a Purple Star School
William Jefferson Clinton Elementary is fortunate to have two dedicated Military Liaisons, Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Rodriguez. Coleman and Rodriguez support military families within the school community. Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Rodriguez are Military Child Education Coalition members, understand the unique challenges military families face, and are military spouses. Mrs. Coleman proudly supports her US Air Force veteran husband, while Mrs. Rodriguez's husband served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Their personal experiences and commitment to service make them invaluable resources for our military families. Together, they are here to help military students transition smoothly into their new school environment and ensure they feel supported and welcomed in their new surroundings.
Student Ambassador Program
William Jefferson Clinton Elementary offers a Student Ambassador Program that connects a new military student with a current 4th or 5th-grade student. The primary goal of the program is to ease the stress associated with moving to a new school and ensure that the new student feels welcomed and supported. Through regular check-ins between the ambassadors and the new military students, we are creating a vibrant and inclusive community and fostering long-lasting friendships.
