wjces break room revamp

PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Teachers at William Jefferson Clinton Elementary received a nice surprise during Teacher Appreciation Week. Principal, Mrs. Felecia Hamilton, came up with the idea to revamp the school’s staff break room.

The project, sponsored by the school PTO and community members, included a new coat of paint, new decor and furniture, and updated cabinets. The school is calling the updated room “The Eagle Den.”

“I came up with the design idea and organized the project,” said teacher Sarah Reid. “We painted the feather wall and the countertops, installed the cabinet pulls, hung the lights, placed the furniture and decor, did the shopping, and did the big reveal. This has been my little baby!”

While the district covered the cost of paint and fixing damaged baseboards, the other $2,100 was raised through donations by Carl and Wilma Hohn, Gander RV employees, and City Serve.
