nutrition meal program

PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Pulaski County Special School District served 70,541 meals for children over the course of nine weeks through its summer meal program. The program provided weekly boxes of seven breakfasts and seven lunches for Pulaski County children at seven PCSSD school locations.

“We are so thankful that parents allowed us to feed their children this summer,” said Regena English, director of student nutrition. “We work so hard to ensure every student is provided a meal when needed. It has been a great success and we look forward to many summers of feeding.”

Families picked up boxes every Monday beginning June 7 and continued through Monday, August 2. The most meals were served the week of June 21 at 10,070 breakfast and lunch meal boxes total. The breakdown of meals served by each school was as follows:

Cato Elementary | 27,164 meals
